Yazan Alsabbagh

Born in 1994 in Damascus and now based in Berlin, Yazan Alsabbagh is a Syrian clarinetist, producer, and the visionary behind Sharake.

• Began his musical journey with piano at 7 and transitioned to the clarinet at 14.

• Studied at the Barenboim-Said Academy in Berlin and pursued sound engineering at Hofa Online College.

• Performed internationally at venues like Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Stuttgart Jazz Festival, and Pierre Boulez Saal in Berlin.

• Featured as a soloist with the Oriental Music Symphony Orchestra, showcasing compositions created specifically for him.

• In addition to his clarinet mastery, Yazan is also a singer and music producer, contributing to his multifaceted musical identity.

Saleh Katbe

Born in 1991 in Damascus and now based in Berlin, Saleh Katbe is a producer, oud player, and composer with a rich background in music for film and theater.

• Composed for productions such as “The Factory” (Volksbühne, Berlin, 2018) and “King kommt noch” (Köln Philharmonie, 2018).

• Studied at the High Institute of Music in Damascus and later pursued a master’s at the University of Music Franz Liszt in Weimar, Germany.

• Known for his expertise in composition, oud performance, and music theory, Saleh brings a unique depth to Sharake’s sound.
