Sharake is a groundbreaking music project blending traditional Middle Eastern sounds with modern electronic beats. Led by clarinetist, music producer, and songwriter Yazan Alsabbagh, the project pushes boundaries by integrating acoustic instruments with electronic soundscapes. Yazan Alsabbagh

 

Born in 1994 in Damascus and now based in Berlin, Yazan Alsabbagh is a Syrian clarinetist, producer, and the visionary behind Sharake.

Began his musical journey with piano at 7 and transitioned to the clarinet at 14.

Studied at the Barenboim-Said Academy in Berlin and pursued sound engineering at Hofa Online College.

Performed internationally at venues like Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Stuttgart Jazz Festival, and Pierre Boulez Saal in Berlin.

Featured as a soloist with the Oriental Music Symphony Orchestra, showcasing compositions created specifically for him.

In addition to his clarinet mastery, Yazan is also a singer and music producer, contributing to his multifaceted musical identity.

Saleh Katbe

 

Born in 1991 in Damascus and now based in Berlin, Saleh Katbe is a producer, oud player, and composer with a rich background in music for film and theater.

Composed for productions such as “The Factory” (Volksbühne, Berlin, 2018) and “King kommt noch” (Köln Philharmonie, 2018).

Studied at the High Institute of Music in Damascus and later pursued a master’s at the University of Music Franz Liszt in Weimar, Germany.

Known for his expertise in composition, oud performance, and music theory, Saleh brings a unique depth to Sharake’s sound.
